Product has been downgraded - picture misleading : Household Essentials 01812 Six-Shelf Canvas Sweater Organizer
This organizer is the perfect addition to my closet. I use it to hold sweaters, T-shirts, and pants. I used to store these items on the shelf of my closet; so this organizer has freed up that space for other items.
The shelves are made of thin, firm plastic; so they hardly sag under the weight of the clothes. Some hanging organizers have canvas shelves, which don't support the clothes nearly as well.
This organizer holds a lot of items in very little space and for a very reasonable price -- a very worthwile purchase!

Your wardrobe has never looked so good. Crafted of solid wood with a honey maple finish, this 16D" shelving system converts your 6-10? closet into a beautifully organized space customized for just what you need. Ventilated slat-style shelves keep everything fresher longer, and the 72H" tower gives you multiple options: slide in Tower Drawers for socks and tees, stack Tower Shelves for sweaters, or use a combination, then polish off the look with a set of Tower Doors (drawers, shelves and doors sold separately). Deluxe system includes three 24Wx16D" shelves, two 72Wx16D" shelves, a 48Wx16D" shelf, a 72H" tower, two 72" garment bars, a 48" garment bar, 6 J-hooks, 6 angle brackets and satin nickel hardware. Configuration shown is for an 8? closet..../ John Louis Home JLH-526 Deluxe 16-Inch Deep Closet Shelving System, Red Mahogany / Closet DesignJohn Louis Home JLH-526 Deluxe 16-Inch Deep Closet Shelving System, Red Mahogany

Made In China . . . Now you've been forewarned : John Louis Home JLH-526 Deluxe 16-Inch Deep Closet Shelving System, Red Mahogany
Rough finish quality, they use an extremely soft wood that you can score even with your fingernail. I think after a year of use in the kids' closets, these would look like trash. Imperfections in wood filled with putty that doesn't stain and blend with the wood. Even cross slats are often not parallel with each other! Side panels are often warped making drawer operation (if you plan on using drawers) very difficult. The slots for shelves on the vertical pieces look like they were carved with a kitchen knife by a five year old, sometimes these slots are not even from left to right, making the shelves crooked.
Hardware quality varies from mediocre to abysmal: screw heads missing screwdriver slots, brackets that are rusty coming out of the plastic bag, wall anchors cast from plastic, but the casting halves never exactly match, making these a real bear to screw into drywall. I ended up throwing away most of the supplied hardware and buying them new from Lowe's.
Packaging is also very substandard, CHECK PACKAGE FOR DAMAGE BEFORE ACCEPTING FROM UPS!!! Small divots in the outer box translates to broken or cracked wood inside. The thin carton does a poor job protecting the wood inside.

Very mixed opinions : John Louis Home JLH-526 Deluxe 16-Inch Deep Closet Shelving System, Red Mahogany
I am a mechanical engineer and an accomplished do-it-yourself'er, and I found this closet system to be a challenge. Even though I was installing it in one of their standard configurations, I had to do more measuring and cutting than I would have expected. It took me about 6 hours to install it. I installed a second unit in about 3 hours.
The overall quality is good, although there were some dings and dents in the shelves, and there were a couple screws missing. I didn't call the company to complain, since I didn't want to wait for replacements. The wood is pine, as noted, so it isn't the hardest stuff in the world. While drilling, I noticed that some pieces were softer than others, but the finish was consistent from piece to piece. The shelves were very straight and square, and the brackets were well-made.
I wasn't thrilled with how the hanger bars mounted to the wall and brackets - I think they could have designed this part better. Measuring is critical, too - I found my stacked shelves fit too loosely in the 2nd closet I installed, since my measurements were a hair off. Also, I thought some of the screws weren't as heavy-duty as I would have liked. It seems sturdy, though, and I expect it to hold up well.
All in all, this closet system is very nice, but if you aren't confident in your abilities, don't even attempt installing it yourself.

This system takes all the guesswork out of remodeling and organizing your closet by putting everything you need in one package. Designing a John Louis closet is also simple and straightforward. No matter your skill level, from novice to expert, you can do it. All you need is a pencil, level, screwdriver, and saw, and you're ready to go.
Wall-Mounted Design for Greater Flexibility
Like all John Louis Home Closet Systems, the Premier does not have a fixed height. Due to its wall-mounted design, wherever you decide to place your top shelf determines the height. This gives you greater flexibility in creating a space that meets your specific needs.
Multiple Components Offer Durability and Elegance
Whether in a bedroom, pantry, linen closet, laundry room, or foyer closet, the Premier closet organizer system showcases quality and attention to detail and creates a durable system with real visual appeal. Beautiful in a red mahogany finish, the wood closet shelving unit is both elegant and refined. It also provides you with efficient and attractive closet organization to last a lifetime, with high quality materials and 12-inch-deep shelves.
100% Solid Wood for Long-Lasting Beauty, Moisture Control, and Strength
Designed with versatility in mind, this shelving system offers the best in features and functionality. Most importantly, kiln-dried, 100% solid wood construction prevents warping and sagging; the multi-layered finish also adds a rich look while blocking moisture intake. Additionally, this set includes all-metal hardware, with a decorative satin nickel finish, for strong and secure mounting without flexing or sagging.
"Off the Floor" Mounting for Ease of Installation; Ventilation for Air Circulation
The Premier system utilizes "off the floor" mounting, making it easy to install. Three universal bracket types are secured to the walls, and the shelves are locked in to the brackets. Since the shelving covers the majority of the brackets, minimal hardware is visible. And because the closet system is raised, the closet floor space is clear of any obstructions. The system is also ventilated for air circulation, preventing musty odors and allowing clothes to breathe.
Six-Foot Integrated Tower for Accessories
This system includes a six-foot integrated tower to provide adjustable shelf capability and to give you a dedicated space for handbags, belts, hosiery, and other accessories. For more storage options, tower doors and 12-inch adjustable shelf accessory add-ons are available to enhance functionality.
What's in the Box
Three shelves measuring 12 x 24 inches; two shelves measuring 12 x 72 inches; one shelf measuring 12 x 48 inches; two tower sides measuring 12 x 72 inches; two 6-inch metal wardrobe bars; one 4-inch metal wardrobe bar; six 12-inch angle brackets; six metal j-hooks; assembly instructions; configuration guide; and all necessary hardware and fasteners.

Quality Product : John Louis Home JLH-529 Premier 12-Inch Deep Closet Shelving System, Red Mahogany
We read the reviews and this seemed like a good option. After several hours of installation it does look nice but I'm not sure it was worth it. It is certainly better than the particle board or wire closet systems. This is not a beginner project unless you have extreme patience. Not only is there no room for error with some of the measurements and leveling there is cutting involved. When we finely finished I felt like I could have spent the same amount of time and less money to design and build my own closet system that would have been better suited to our needs.
